3 years and counting...

Steeplechase

Steeplechase fun with the Reynolds family!  Good friends, perfect weather, and 4 very well behaved little ones made for a really great day...even if Lee and Caroline didn't win every race this year!

Tolson's first Steeplechase at 4 months old!

 After the races, we went home and had a nice family dinner.  We tried to get a picture of the girls with my grandmother Dodie...this was the best we could get!

Tolson's 4 month stats:

Height:  25 inches long- 76%
Weight:  13 lbs 9 oz- 48%
Head circumference:  41.9 cm- 75%

At four months, she:
*is sweet and HAPPY!
*rolled over for the first time at the Dr. for her check up from her stomach to her back.  She has done it since, but not often.  She still does not love tummy time.
*has blue eyes and blondish hair
*finally really likes bath time
*is reaching for her hanging toys on her play mat
*sitting up well in her Bumbo seat
*is a Mommy's girl
*loves to smile at her big sister
*was sick for the first time
*is doing great at daycare

Tolson v. Stomach bug

Tolson came home from school Friday with her first sickness, and I'm sorry to say it was the stomach bug.  Poor thing.  She could not keep anything down and was so pitiful, it broke my heart.   The only thing she has been able to stomach is Pedialyte.  She seems to be starving, but anytime I try to give her any milk, she gets sick again.  I do think she got at least a few ounces of milk today, so that is progress. I'm hoping by tomorrow she will be feeling much better.

She is so sweet and small, I feel terrible for her.  We have done a lot of snuggling...and a LOT of laundry and disinfecting!

Lee was out of town on his annual golf outing, so it made for an interesting two days.  The good news is that, so far, Caroline and I seem to have avoided it.  I don't do well with throw up, so I'm counting that as a small victory.

Go away, stomach bug, and leave my little ones in peace!

Update:  every member of our family got sick before it was all over.  It was furious, but at least it was fast!

Sisters

Caroline really is sweet with Tolson.  She is interacting with her more and more. She wakes up asking for "baby" and always says "night night, baby" when I am taking her to bed at night.  Caroline even grabs Tolson's hands and tries to dance with her during her dance parties.  I am thrilled for my girls to be so close in age and love that they will grow up knowing first hand how special it is to have a sister.

At 3 months, Tolson:

* is a good sleeper, going down around 9:30 and sleeping through the night about 75% of the time
* is able to hold her head up during tummy time.  She was not a big fan of being on her stomach, but she tolerates it much better now that she can lift her head.
* has started going to day care.  She seems to be adjusting fairly well so far.
*is typically taking 7 or 8 feedings of 4 ounces a day.  I am going to begin adding a bit of formula in one of her bottles to see how she tolerates it.
* has a beautiful smile and will really "talk" if you are talking to her
*has blue eyes and really straight light colored hair.  Not sure that she will be blonde, but her hair and skin seem a little lighter than Caroline.  Maybe she will end up looking more like me than Lee??
*tolerates Caroline when her love taps are a little too rough!
*is a beautiful, sweet, easy going baby who is such a joy to be around!!
