School was closed again today and Caroline is getting a little stir crazy. Most of the snow has melted now and it warmed up a bit, so we ventured outside to run around. Caroline loves "oside" and after today, I think Tolson does, too. Both girls were all smiles, but only the little one would cooperate for my camera!

Tolson at 2 months!
At two months, she:
*still has blue eyes and beautiful skin
*looks very serious most of the time, like she is concentrating hard on something, but is starting to show us her pretty smile more and more
*is on somewhat of a schedule
*slept through the night for the first time on January 16- from 11:30 to 7:15
*went to Edisto for the first time after Christmas and for New Years Eve. We took her to the beach for about 5 minutes, but it was cold and dark, so no good pictures.
*HATES a bath
*has her only fussy spell of the day about 10 o'clock at night
*loves to snuggle
Two month stats:
Height: 23.3 inches 80 percentile
Weight: 11 lbs 6 ounces 63 percentile

My peanut is allergic to tree nuts.
When we were in Aiken for Christmas, Caroline ate a cashew and had an immediate reaction. Luckily, Allison was there, noticed it quickly, and knew just what to do. Mom had some children's benadryl on hand, so with some benadryl and a bath, Caroline was good as new. Scared me to death. Our pediatrician referred us to an allergist, and we had our appointment yesterday.
Caroline has an allergy to tree nuts. Her biggest reaction was to cashew, pistachio and coconut. She is also allergic to the other tree nuts- walnut, almond, hazelnut and pecan. While this is a bummer, it is much better than it could have been. She had no reaction to peanut, so that is a relief- peanuts and peanut oil are in everything!
We will try to keep her away from tree nuts, carry an EpiPen with us as a precaution and pray that she is among the 10% of children who outgrow this particular allergy. We go back in 12 months to have her retested.

All of those marks under what looks like a C there are the tree nuts. |
